On Friday, July 25, our immediate past president, Brad Diggs, died peacefully at home from lung cancer, after, what his wife, Peggy, recalled as, "a 21 year journey with his diagnosis, 6 years since the recurrence." 

For his outstanding leadership of Washington Appleseed, Brad received the Leadership Award at the annual lunch last October. It was a small token of appreciation for all that he and Peggy have meant to Washington Appleseed. Brad served two years as president - 2006 and 2007. We miss him tremendously and send to Peggy and sons, Matthew and Benjamin, as well as Matthew's fiance Naomi, our heart-felt condolences.
